Ben - Full-time student / "Stay-at-home" dad

I am enjoying Trinity more than I could have dreamed. I'm officially half done with my M.Div. and plan to graduate in May 2013. Here's what I'm up to...
  • Besides my studies, I enjoy working on the computer (doing just about anything). Love Apple products, use Windows if I have to, and dabble with Linux on rare occasions.
  • I am also privileged to work with Dr. Eckhard Schnabel as his Graduate Assistant. This has given me the opportunity to get an "insider" view on what being a professor is like. I have graded papers, created quizzes and exams, and even had the opportunity to give a couple lectures!
  • Because Amy works full-time, I also a "stay-at-home" dad... keeping the laundry, dishes, and housework going.

Amy - Full-time nurse / Best mommy ever

Working full-time as a nurse is a bittersweet challenge. It is a privilege to be able to help patients with their lives and medical issues, but it is also draining. Insurance bureaucracy and paperwork test my sanity and joy. Here's what I'm up to...
  • Since I'm at work all day I try to spend as much time with Luke and Ben as possible. This is hard because I have so many projects I want to work on too!
  • Ben does much of the cooking during the week, so I try to do some on the weekend. We both love to cook so we like to share the load.

Luke - Kool Kid / 5 going on 6 / built-in nuclear reactor

I am in bilingual (Spanish / English) Kindergarten now and am having a blast. Besides having fun and learning, I get time-outs from time to time. I just get so excited about what I'm doing and learning I can't control myself sometimes. My daddy tells me if he could figure out how to extract even a little bit of my energy and sell it, we would be ultra-rich!  Here's what I'm up to...
  • I love building new Lego kits... I am only 5 and I can build kits that are for 7-12 year olds.
  • Watching shows is probably second, if not tied with playing with toys. I watch all the kids shows... Blues Clues, Dora, Diego, Word World, Wild Kratt Brothers, Backyardigans, etc.
  • I also like to dance to "crazy music" (my daddy says I learned to dance in Congo).
  • My mommy also helps me with cool crafts and I even get to help cook from time to time.
